Soccer
A few weeks ago our friends the Ides emailed us asking if we wanted to sign Ricardo up for Soccer so he and Ethan could play together. We didn't get to see them too much this summer and it's about time Ricky starts some sports so we decided to sign him up. Ethan and Ricky ended up on the same team, and we even got to pick our team, so Ethan's dad, Brian, is the coach and Ricky has a friend from his old preschool and a classmate from his new school on the team. The Pictures below are from this past Saturday, it was their first practice/game/gathering. Looks like our Saturday mornings are booked from now on.

Beach Fun
We had lots of Beach Fun this summer. However most of the summer wasn't hot enough to spend time at the beach. So we really have spent some quality weekends at the end of August and beginning of September at the beach, below are a few pictures.

Adrien is 2!
My baby turned 2 on May 18th. We had a little birthday party at home for him, which we recorded. I am unable to upload the video, but it's been posted on Facebook, which I'm sure most of you have seen already. This past Saturday, Jack and Margi had their annual Memorial day gathering and included Adrien's birthday for everyone to share. Doug brought a nice festive cupcake for him. He was a little puzzled since he'd already celebrated is birthday but he quickly understood that he got to blow candles again. He got some nice trucks for his birthday with lots of lights and sounds. One of them plays a song that Adrien enjoys dancing to.

strawberry Fest
On May 16th we went to the Annual Strawberry festival in Oxnard. We haven't been there since 2004 where Ricardo was about 5 months. Now 5 years later, we still love it. The experience began with Jean-Marc's first bungee jump and ended with the boys fast asleep in the car. All in all a good day!

Mothers day
So I felt I needed to put up some mother's day pictures but as always I thought about taking Mother's day pictures AFTER mothers day....so yesterday I took some pictures of the flowers I got for mother's day and of my boys. Adrien wasn't cooperating as you can tell in the pictures. But the flowers are beautiful.
I got breakfast in bed Sunday morning, and Ricky even shared his chocolate chip muffin with me, how lucky am I? Ricky picked the card, it played Lean on Me....
After church we drove by a restaurant I've always wanted to go, so we went in and had lunch, it's called Ngoma, it's an African restaurant...I was in heaven.
Enjoy the pics,

Honduras Mission
At the end of February I left for our church's annual Honduras mission trip. It's a week long medical mission in which we spend a day in each of four communities in the north of Honduras. we spend the better part of the week in a beach front hotel, which helps us feel like we're on vacation at the end of long exhausting medicine dolling days. The pictures below are just some of the ones taken by different member of our missionary group. Enjoy:

Ok, so I haven't posted in a while, and I've been getting complaints. But it doesn't really help when I don't have any pictures. We have lots of holiday pics that were all posted elsewhere, so everyone who follows this blog has already seen them and there's no need to show them again. Part of the reason for them having been posted elsewhere is because they weren't taken with our camera, so they didn't belong to us and we had no control over the posting.
Where is our camera you ask? Well if you don't know yet, we left it in the Newark airport on our way to Boston over the Christmas holiday. So we spent our whole vacation without a camera and calling the Newark airport everyday. Turns out, when we got back to L.A., Newark airport is not very reliable (the airline people told us this in Los Angeles). So we put in a claim, but haven't yet gotten our camera back, and I doubt we will. So that's the story of the lost camera.
We haven't bought a new one because that was an expensive camera and a new one would be more expensive still and it's not at the top of the list at this time. We do have a smaller camera, that more than does the job. But after having the other one...it just feels sort of sad. All of this to say that we've been pretty bad at taking pictures.
The boys are not looking much different from when they did over the holidays, the only things you can tell is their behavior and you can't see that on pictures. Maybe I'll start posting some videos.
Ok, so where does the title come from? That's Ricky's conversation about Spring. He's been told at school when spring was going to start, so he spent all last week saying that spring was starting, and he was very excited. He asked me if he could go out and play in the sprinklers because spring had started. Sprinklers? Well, since last Spring, everytime he saw the sprinklers on he'd get all excited and say "it's spring!!" He did this all summer as well. So somehow, sprinklers and Spring are practically the same thing and he wants to go out and play in the water, which is really why he likes sprinklers/spring in the first place.
Adrien, my baby, is not so much of a baby anymore, he's started his terrible twos tantrums, specially when he's tired. He does have a wonderful personality, though; he's very social, will wave and say hi and bye to everyone and even blows kisses...well almost everyone, there are some over-friendly people that he just stares at and gives them a "what are you doing?" look.
So this is my update, sorry again for the lack of photos, we will make an extra effort to snap more shots of the boys. Stay tuned for a post on our nature walks....maybe we'll take some pics at one of them.
